1. Entries in this department are open to all registered Starfight, Adventure, Discovery, and Horizon Camp Fire active club members or you must have attended and participated in either Day or Resident Camp. Each item must have a tag with the boy’s/girl’s name, and marked “Samish Camp Fire Project.”
2. The articles entered must represent the labor and the ability of the boy/girl making the exhibit.
3. Gowns and jackets will not be judged and may be entered for display only.
4. Articles must never have been entered before in the Fair.
5. Only one entry is permitted by each exhibitor in each lot.
6. All entries will be received 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday before the Fair. No late entries will be accepted.
7. All exhibits are to remain for the entire Fair and cannot be removed until noon to 2 p.m. Sunday after the Fair.
8. The exhibits will not be accepted without a tag with the child’s name, age, council leader’s name and name of article and entry number from the list.
9. Very small items must be securely fastened to a stable base or container with not more than one inch extending beyond the item.
10. All entries will be judged under the Danish System, which is a group system of awards. Each entry falling in the blue ribbon group will receive a blue ribbon. Each one meeting a slightly lower standard will receive a red ribbon. Each one placing a lower standard will be awarded a white ribbon. The judge has the privilege of putting as many as he/she sees fit in each group. Awards not worthy of a first, second, or third will be given participant ribbons and receive no premiums.
11. Posters may be made and entered by any Camp Fire Club member in any Camp Fire Club Project. The size of the poster should be 14” x 22”. Poster will be judged on:
a. Educational quality - make it educational and informative to the viewer.
b. Effectiveness and Force of Impact - Is it eye catching - is it easy to read?
c. Simplicity and Clarity - make the poster one main idea. Do not overcrowd with irrelevant material.
d. Originality - posters should show originality.
e. Age and experience of exhibitor will be considered in placing.
12. The general rules of the Fair will be observed.
DIVISION 1 – Homemaking – one entry per lot
CLASS A – BAKING
Baked goods must be fresh baked, on a paper plate and the recipe attached to the plate, then placed in a clear plastic bag or wrap. Care should be taken that the wrapping does not disturb the appearance. Entries will be judged for flavor, texture, and appearance.

CLASS B - FOOD PRESERVATION - One Jar
All canned entries must be in standard canning jars, screw bands removed, clean and with label indicating processing method, time, variety, and date. Canning will be judged for appearance, container, label, and pack. Jelly and jam must be in small jars with a thin layer of paraffin and a metal cover or may be sealed in 1/2 pint jars. Each jar must have label indicating method, variety, and date. Jam and jelly will be judged for appearance, flavor and texture. NO FROZEN.
