Administrative / Customer Service Representative

The Northwest Washington Fair is looking for a positive individual with a team orientated
personality to join our team.
The position is a full-time, at will position including, but not limited to customer interactions,
ticket sales, and answering phones and emails. This position also provides general staff support.

Roles and Responsibilities
· Provide excellent customer service.
· Learn and improve office procedures.
· Sell tickets through the Fair’s Box Office.
· Answer all incoming calls and direct to appropriate departments.
· Respond to emails in a timely and professional manner.
· Provide general staff support and special project assistance.
· Train seasonal front-end staff.
· Ensure Fair Office is clean and organized.

Qualifications
· Organized with attention to detail.
· Willing to work long hours seasonally.
· Front desk or customer service experience a must.

Pay and Benefits
· $17-$20/hr DOE.

2023 Superintendent Openings

We are accepting applications for the following positions for the 2023 Fair. Please contact the Fair office, 360-354-4111.

  • Poultry Superintendent
  • FFA Superintendent
  • 4H Swine Superintendent
  • Wool Superintendent
  • 4H Public Presentation Superintendent
  • Llama and Alpaca Superintendent

OBJECTIVE: Join the Northwest Washington Fair Team as a Superintendent

EXPECTATIONS:

Prior to Fair:

  • Read and be familiar with all general rules and the section of the Fair premium book for the department you are Superintendent for.
  • Communicate with Fair staff.
  • Review entries for accuracy. Contact exhibitors for clarification.
  • For Still Life departments choose entry turn in day and time.
  • Set up your department. This could include assigning stalls, cleaning, and decorating.
  • Entry check in. For Still Life departments check in entries and fill out appropriate paperwork. For Livestock departments help with vet check and stalling animals.
  • Judging: find a judge for your department and work with Fair staff to complete paperwork needed.
  • Still Life departments should be judged prior to Fair starting. Placings should be turned in by Monday of Fair.

During Fair:

  • Supervise your department area and any activities taking place.
  • Review with judges the rules and guidelines. Assist the judge with any questions.
  • Maintain an orderly display area.
  • Turn in judging results to the Competitive Exhibits Office.
  • Hand out ribbons, trophies, and other awards.
  • For Livestock departments run judging classes, judge, and award herdsmanship, assist with animal health issues, assist with haul out.
  • Ensure judges and clerks fill out and turn in paperwork.
  • Clean department area as required by Fair staff.

After Fair:

  • For still life departments, have a set time for exhibit pick up.
  • Make recommendations for Fair and suggest changes to the premium book.

Job Type: Temporary

Salary: $150.00 - $500.00 per year
